What is "julpost"(Christmas mail)?
You can send Christmas greetings in the form of postcards or letters weighing up to 20 grams to addresses in Åland and Finland at a discounted rate. Christmas postage is €1.80. Ordinary postage applies to Christmas mail sent to other Nordic countries, the rest of Europe and all other destinations worldwide.
Christmas greetings within Åland
You can send Christmas greetings at a discounted rate within Åland from 20 November up to and including 14 December. After this date, ordinary postage applies.
Christmas greetings to Finland
You can send Christmas greetings at a discounted rate to Finland from 20 November up to and including 9 December. After this date, ordinary postage applies.

The Finnish Lighthouse Society works to preserve lighthouses in Åland and Finland, their history and associated cultural heritage.
Please note
- Customs declaration: If you are sending letters or parcels containing goods to destinations outside Åland, you must complete and attach a CN22 customs declaration label. Labels are available at our post offices, postal agents, or you can download one here.
- Post your mail in good time! Please bear in mind that the posting dates apply to parcels and letters handed in at a post office or postal agent, or posted in a mailbox, before the last posting times. More information about the posting deadlines for outgoing mail is available here .
- Letters and parcels sent outside Åland will go through customs clearance in the destination country. This process can affect and prolong delivery times.
