Volumetric weight calculation
A parcel can be light but still take up a lot of space. For this reason, the volume is converted into weight by treating each cubic metre as 250 kg. You pay for whichever is higher, the actual weight or the volumetric weight.
Delivery
If your item has valuable contents, you should send it insured. You will receive a receipt for the item signed by Åland Post. The item is handled separately from other mail, and in addition to insurance and the transport fee, the price includes handling as a fragile item.
Items containing money, securities, valuables or anything else of value must always be sent insured.
Please note that some countries completely prohibit money, securities, valuables or precious metals in postal items.
