Letter dimensions and size
Minimum size
9 x 13 cm within the Nordic countries and 9 x 14 cm to other countries.
Maximum size
Width + length + thickness = 90 cm, but the maximum length is 60 cm.
Maximum weight
2 kg.
Letters in the form of a roll (Åland)
The minimum size is length + twice the diameter at least 17 cm, but the length must be at least 10 cm. The maximum size is length + twice the diameter at most 104 cm, but the length must be at most 90 cm.
Large letters (Åland)
A letter is large when it is bigger than a standard mail slot, that is when the shortest side is over 25 cm, or the longer side is over 40 cm and/or the letter is thicker than 3 cm. The delivery time for large Priority letters is one day longer.
A surcharge applies to large letters.
Tracking and delivery at the destination are included for Åland and Finland. Express Letters handed in at the post office on a working day (Mon–Fri) by the stated cut-off time are delivered to the recipient with the regular delivery, according to the receiving postal operator's terms. Marked with an express label with a barcode. Tracking is only available in a few countries.
Large letters cannot be sent as Express Letters
