If you want, you can opt out of both addressed and unaddressed advertising. Here is what you need to know.

Addressed advertising
If you do not want addressed advertising, you can do the following:
- Tell the company you no longer want advertising from.
- Register a ban on the disclosure of personal data with the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. Address details are used for opinion polls and market research and for direct marketing, among other things. You can register the ban on the or by phone on 0295-553 64 11 through their Population Data customer service.
- Tell the State Department of Åland that you do not want advertising. You do this by filling in the form on the Digital and Population Data Services Agency's website. The notification applies to mail from companies that buy their advertising addresses from the agency. Read more at
